About Fit Pretoria

During 1995 members of Technicon Pretoria Marathon club, the chairperson Blackie Swart decided to engage with Fit 2000 (JHB) to be Fit 2000 in Pretoria. During those days Fit 2000 had sponsorship from Nike but with time Nike sponsorship went on its own marry way but Fit 2000 in Pretoria still participated in races. Our first race in Fit 2000 club vest was at Wonderboompark shopping centre race. “Oom” Bossie drove the same day to get club vest in JHB to enable the members to participate in the race with their new club vest. That is how Fit 2000 (Pretoria) came to life.

During 2015 the club made a decision to be our own identity to change our name to FIT Pretoria as there is Fit 2000 situated in JHB, Durban, Capetown and us, Pretoria all with the same vest. Today we are FIT Pretoria small growing club, crazy bunch but we are like family to each other. Our love to run has bring us together.
